April Currently

Happy April!  Are you ready for a day of tricks?  I have a love/hate relationship with this day.  I love playing tricks on people, but don't like being tricked.  And to be honest, some of the first grade "tricks" can be so goofy, that my laugh turns kind of fake by the end of the day.  I have seen some fun ideas that I may pull on my kiddoes today!  In the meantime, I am linking up with Farley for the monthly currently.

Listening-  I just love mornings before anyone else is up.  I can watch what I want to watch and drink my coffee peacefully.  That is what I am doing at the moment.

Loving-  I love the spring decor in the stores and catalogs right now.  The colors are so fun and it motivates me to get outside.  Now if only our weather would cooperate.

Thinking- Today is April Fool's Day.  I have read about some fun ides, but some of the things I want to do would require me to go to the grocery store before school starts.  I'll let you know if that happens. My favorite idea I have seen is the brownies or brown "e's" .  I want to hand out some brown colored e's, but then in the end give them each a brownie bite.  This is why I need to go to the store this morning.  I don't have brownies handy at the moment.

Wanting-  Summer break.  This always happens after spring break.  I get a taste of what life will be like with no schedule and them BAM!  Spring break os over!  So at least with summer, I can have a little longer than a week of no schedule.

Needing-  I am feeling a little unorganized at the moment and I feel a little spring cleaning/purging may help.  Maybe this weekend?

Hours and Last Day-  My last day is June 5th (that would be 45 school days left, but who's counting?).
The kids come to school Monday-Thursday 8:10-2:10 and Fridays 8:10-12:50.  The kids leave at those times, but we are contracted to stay until 3:15.  We use that time for collaboration/prep/meetings, etc.

Okay, the house is beginning to wake up.  Time to motivate, let's get through this day and drop that number down to 44.  Cheers!

  1. I am so jealous of all of these early release dates!!!! Ours got pushed out and we are now in classes till JUNE 10th. (A random Monday of classes...yea let's see how many show up for that!). I also am loving this springs color pallet! There is literally a commercial about the colors of spring on iTunes radio right now!!! Funny!

    Have a great day!

  2. I'm trying to figure out a good joke for my kiddos too. I saw one that was an impossible word search-but that would take work to make. :) I love life with no schedule too!

  3. Spring decorations always make me smile!!! We still haven't made it to spring break but we only have 32 more student days until summer break - can we say poor planning?!?!?!?! I am jealous of your hours though! I would love a half day each week for planning.

  4. Wow! Your schedule sounds awesome. In my district the middle and high schools get a late start every Thursday. The kids arrive a couple of hours later than normal. At the elementaries we aren't so lucky.

Did you try the brownie prank? How'd it go?
