Now that my kids are understanding part-part-whole, they love this activity. I tell them they need to solve a mystery and find the missing number.
Starting with part-part-whole has really made teaching fact families a little easier.
This tally practice, I set up as a "read the room" activity. So they have to walk around and find the cards and then record the number of tally marks.
Addition equations sort
Non-standard measuring with bells. I put small bells in their tub, but I want to get larger ones too. It will fun for them to compare the different measurements. I made a printable bell measuring tool as well in case a child cannot handle using the bells.
And finally the North Pole Find, Tally and Graph. I put the find and tally in one tub, and the find and graph in another tub. I tried to put them all together, but most cannot finish both of them during their tub time. If you are interested in these activities, click on the picture below.
I am so excited, I love the holiday season! I will share some of my favorite read alouds later this week. Enjoy your weekend!
