Friday Teacher Feature

Happy Friday!  I have a workday to finish up report cards which is very nice.  Then, one more week and then I have a week off for spring break, yipee!

In the meantime, are you ready to learn about another great teacher?  I love reading about others and discovering their blogs.

This week's teacher is Lori from The Reinspired Teacher.   Lori teaches 2nd grade after many years at kindergarten.  I love her blog, she has some fun ideas.

How long have you been teaching?
18 years

What do you like most about teaching?
I love to see a child who at first had no understanding of a concept, finally understands it.

What has been most challenging for you as a teacher?
I have a very hard time with data driven instruction. All the testing and keeping track of data takes time away from real learning. Teaching children to do well on a test isn't really teaching.

What do you like to do for fun when you are not teaching?
I love making things for Teachers Pay Teachers, especially if items that other teacher find helpful. I also love to read and play word games.

What is your favorite children's book?
I love The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, as well as all of the books in that Steven Kroll series.

Share a random fact about you.
I am a single mother by choice. Which means I adopted my son knowing I would be raising him as a single parent. It was the best decision I ever made!

Thank you Lori for sharing a bit about yourself. Check out her TPT store for some great products.

Have a great Friday!
