Writing Center Word Lists

I just love Sundays that are attached to a 3-day weekend.  We have had a great weekend and we still have one day to go.  One of the great things about living in northern California is the weather.  It always seems that January is beautiful here, sure we get rain but we often get sunny and mid 60's.  That kind of weather is great when it fall onto a 3-day weekend.  We were able to get a hike in, ride bikes and play at the park.  Lots of fun!

I also finished my monthly writing center word lists.  These have been very popular, but some of the months were not finished.  Well, now they are!  Each pack includes a word list (color and black/white)

They also include a small version, which I laminate and place on a binder ring.  I have them in my writing center and one for each table group.

There are also the word wall or packet chart sized words.
Each set is available individually, or the monthly themes are also available bundled as a set.  Here is what is included in the Year of Words Set:

My kids love using these.  I find that it helps them generate ideas to write about.

Well, I'm off to watch the last football game for the day.  Happy day off tomorrow if you are at a school that gets the day off!

Toodles!

  4. I like these but I really don't teach monthly themes as such. What about making strips like: school words, playground words, places we go, my family, color words, shape words, number words, farm animals, jungle animals, insects, to name a few? Just an idea.

  5. I really love the small ones that you use for centers. I was wondering if you have a set that is just all of the word list you created that are just the small word center list. I would definitely buy that if you have it available. Thanks!

  11. These are fantastic, as I teach thematically, but I teach French immersion. Are your lists editable?
