New Year's Resolutions

Well I have settled back into reality and life is pretty good!  Things have gone smoothly in class since vacation and we have had a lot of fun.  The first day back we have a "snowball fight" with the other 2 first grade classes.  This is a big deal because we rarely (maybe once every 5-10 years) get snow where we live.  It rains, but we are in the valley and it usually isn't cold enough for snow.  Our "snowball" fight consists of rolled up pieces of paper.  We usually write sight words or sentences no them and then ambush another class.  After a little "snowball" fun we read

This is such a cute story and a great lead in to talking about goals and resolutions.  Here is the chart I made to help collect the firsties ideas:

Today we made the cutest little New Year's blowers (which I forgot to take a picture of).  Their goals were written in a piece of paper coming out of the blower and rolled up like a party blower.  I will try to remember to post a picture tomorrow.

I was looking for books about New Year Resolutions for younger children. I hadn't heard of this one. Thank you for the ideas.
