Back to Reality

Today is my last day of vacation.  I am excited to see my firsties, but will miss my lazy mornings with my son.  We have been spoiled with late mornings in our jammies, homemade breakfasts and multiple cups of coffee.  I went into my classroom for a bit today to put away Christmas stuff and get things ready for the first few days.  This week will be a transition week before starting our penguin unit.  I got my math tubs ready, but am going to with one more day before I do my literacy tubs.  I think tomorrow will be a day to change desks, review procedures, talk about goals and chat about our vacation.  My math tubs are pretty sparse because I am hoping to start my 100 club later this week. I will share more about the 100 club (soon to be the 120 club) later this week.  Here is what I put in my math tubs this week, Find, Tally and Graph-winter and Tic Tac Snowman.

Well, I am off to enjoy the last few hours of my Sunday.  It is a beautiful day here in northern California, time to get outside and play!  Don't forget to enter my Mega Giveaway, only a few days left.

  1. Hi Renee,

We will also be doing snowman activities this week. Tomorrow will be hard for both teachers and students just going back. I think it's a good idea to review routines and such. I always look forward to January with first graders. They seem to make so much progress during this time. Enjoy your first day back.
